I know that geographically I’m in New Mexico, but this week tastes a lot like New Orleans. I’ve come to check out Red River Ski Area and the surrounding town is in the midst of celebrating its annual Mardi Gras in the Mountains festival. To emulate a classic Louisiana fashion, the whole town is practically swimming in gumbo, jambalaya, and a sundry sea of scrumptious crustaceans.

Red River Ski & Summer Area announces the new Emerald Quad Chairlift to replace the Green Chairlift at Summit Camp. The Emerald Quad will be turning for the 2016 – 2017 ski season! The Emerald Quad will provide better access to the gentle slopes of Summit Camp and acts as a portal to terrain served by the Silver Chairlift. Summit Camp has beautiful glade areas with family friendly slopes located at an elevation of 10,350 feet.
