Race the Face

Race to the top of The Face and claim rights to having the fastest snowmobile or snow bike. Race the Face is a timed event, with the best of two runs being counted towards a cash payout.
Rules
- Races are run in a single-machine timed format. This is not a side-by-side drag race-style format. Only one machine is allowed on the course at a time.
- Only one class per machine. Machines may not run in multiple classes.
- Only one rider per machine. Multiple riders may not ride the same machine under different registrations.
- Only one rider per class. The same rider may not ride multiple machines. Each machine must have its own unique rider.
- Machines are allowed to class up if the rider chooses. For example, a stock machine can compete in the Open class but may not compete in both the Stock and Open classes.
- Helmets are required for all riders.
Classes
- Stock - No turbo from the factory. No modification to any part of the machine from the manufacturer's specifications, including but not limited to the motor, chassis, and complete exhaust system. The only modification exception is an aftermarket muffler.
- Boost - Has turbo either from the factory or aftermarket. No modification to any part of the machine from the manufacturer's specifications, including but not limited to the motor, chassis, and complete exhaust system. The only modification exception is an aftermarket muffler.
- Modified - Modifications in any form from the manufacturer's complete exhaust system, intake specifications, or engine specifications. Turbo is allowed, no nitrous.
- Open - Any modifications allowed, including nitrous.

Registration
Registration is first come, first served, with a maximum of 40 machines allowed.
Registration is completed per rider/machine, per class. If registering multiple riders in different classes, assign the correct rider to the valid class they'll be racing in. The entry fee is $50 per rider/machine. Registration can be completed online until Friday, January 12th at 11:59pm. If space is available, day of registration will be available in person at Guest Services in the Main Chalet from 7:30am-12:00pm on Saturday, January 13th. Payment must be made in full at the time of registration. Checks will not be accepted as payment.
Staging
Staging will begin at 2:00pm, Saturday, January 18th, near the Copper Chair at the end of Independence Trail. See the map below for reference. All snowmobiles must be unloaded at the staging area by 3:30pm. Unloaded and staged machines will only be allowed to be run or moved if approved by staff while in the staging area. Once staged in race order, machines will be escorted to The Face and the starting area, followed by the start of the race at 4:00pm. During staging, machines are subject to inspection to ensure they are in the appropriate class.
Payouts
All payouts will be made via a check from Red River Ski & Summer Area.
5 or less machines in the class.
- 100% payout from class to 1st place.
6 to 9 machines in the class.
- 80% payout from class to 1st place.
- 20% payout from class to 2nd place.
10 or more machines in the class.
- 70% payout from class to 1st place.
- 20% payout from class to 2nd place.
- 10% payout from class to 3rd place.
