Red River High Mountain Half Marathon & 5k Run MAY 20, 2017 The Red River High Mountain Half Marathon and 5k is a challenging, high altitude race hosted in the scenic mountain town of Red River, New Mexico. The 13.1 mile race begins in town at 8,750 feet and climbs over 700 feet with a turnaround point at just above 9,400 feet elevation. Runners take in amazing views including Wheeler Peak, the highest point in New Mexico at 13,161 feet. This race is for the ATHLETE who lives for the CHALLENGE! Find half marathon training tips here.
Get ready for the rumble as 20,000 bikers from all different backgrounds line Main Street for one crazy party. Live music can be found all over town, along with vendors carrying everything from leather and lace, to food and fun.
While you’re here, make sure you ride the Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway, an 83 mile loop through northern New Mexico's most beautiful scenery!

Memorial Day Weekend kicks off summer at the Red River Ski & Summer Area. The mountain should be cleared of snow and the grass should be green just in time to open up some of our activities. Take a break from the Motorcycle Rally and enjoy a ride to the top of the mountain and lunch at the Tip Restaurant. Play some disc golf while you are up at Summit Camp too! Back down on Pioneer you can jump on the Pioneer Flyer and zip to the top of a 75 foot tower and enjoy the thrill of soaring over Pioneer Road and the pond to the Flyer House! Red River Ski & Summer Area is fun for the whole family!
Scenic Summer Chair Lift Rides, Pioneer Flyer, Mountain Top Disc Golf, and Dining at the Tip, will be open weekends starting May 27, 2017. (Weekends only until June 09, 2017 when we begin daily operation)
