RRSA Welcomes Winter 2013-2014!

RRSA Welcomes Winter 2013-2014! Release: November 13th 2013 After experiencing an incredible “Summer Fun” season of family activities, there are many exciting new aspects to look forward to at the Red River Ski Area (RRSA) for our upcoming 2013-2014 winter season starting November 27th 2013. In addition to updating our trail signage and cosmetic upgrades to enhance our facilities, we are pleased to announce the installation of 5 new automated snow guns on our Boom Town trail, off of the Copper Chairlift! The installation of these snow guns will ensure earlier opening of trails, as we continue to build our snow making army to boast the best snow making in the region.

For the first time in 20 years, we have added new terrain to our mountain: a two-acre expert level glade on the Northwest side of our Dropout trail. Our new glade will offer more diversity in tree skiing to our skiers and snowboarders and is the first out of three glades that we plan on adding. Linton Judycki, the Resort Services Operations Manager states: “I’m very excited about the new glade we have created. We look forward to offering guests a chance to ski a new part of the mountain that has not been available to the public in the past. Finding new lines to ride through the trees will be a great experience.” As we continue to strive to put smiles on the faces of our guests with our family friendly values, we look forward to a promising winter season. Walt Foley, RRSA’s Deputy General Manager expresses: “With all of the natural snow fall we have received prior to our ’13-’14 winter season opening, and along with our professional snowmaking crew doing a tremendous job, we look forward to one of the best starts to winter we have seen. Come out and enjoy all of the family friendly fun we have to offer throughout the winter!”

As has been our tradition for over 3 decades, the ski area will be open for business starting the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Check out our website at www.RedRiverSkiArea.com for the convenience of booking your tickets, rentals, and lesson packages prior to your arrival. Thursday November 28th we will be hosting our traditional “Frozen Turkey Race” where friends and family can race each other down the hill riding frozen turkeys. Saturday November 30th is our 2nd Annual “Thanksjibbing Rail Jam”, a fun event for skiers and snowboarders alike to get in some early Terrain park fun.

In addition to our weekly Saturday night Torchlight Parade with fireworks, don’t forget about Snow Coach Dinner Tours; our unique winter activity that offers guests a chance to ride up to the top of our mountain in our heated Snow Cat Cab to enjoy a sit down dinner at our Tip Restaurant. Please keep in touch with RRSA on www.RedRiverSkiArea.com, and find us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for updates regarding our upcoming special events and programs offered throughout the winter months.
