Walt Foley Named Deputy General Manager at Red River Ski Area

4 The Red River Miner May 20, 2010
The Red River Ski & Snowboard Area has appointed Walt Foley as its new Deputy General Manager. Foley is currently the Resort Services Director at RRSA, a position that he has held for the last two ski/snowboard seasons.
Foley has an extensive 25 year experience in the ski area business, including being part of the RRSA staff from 1993 to 1999. His career advanced in 1999 as he moved on to the position of Mountain Manager at Steven’s Pass in Washington State. He has also served as Environmental Coordinator at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and, most recently, as Angel Fire’s Risk Manger and Ski Patrol Director. Foley was lured back to Red River by its late owner/General manager, Drew Judycki.
Denny Judycki, Drew’s brother and RRSA’s GM, feels that this appointment is a natural transition for the family and RRSA business. “A Deputy GM position is somewhat unusual” according to Judycki, “but will provide us with full-time management as well as exceptional snowsport experience and leadership as we pursue the growth of the resort. Walt has done a great job over the last couple of winter seasons and his insights have been very valuable as we expand our summer family activities. He will be instrumental in plans for introducing both disc golf on the top of the mountain and summer tubing in 2010.”
